Lower Churchyard Working Party

We meet on the first Saturday of each month at about 9.30hrs, about half way down the Lower Churchyard by the chair, although anybody hanging around by the metal gates on Church Road will be pressed into service.

The working party clears brambles, cuts the grass in rotation over the year (we can’t do it all in one go), trims the hedges, collects fallen branches, burns the cut materials and generally tries to keep the cemetery looking presentable, which is more than can be said about some of the attendees! We can generally field about eight to ten, but additional help is always welcome.We usually finish about 12.30hrs and most then attend the ‘office’ for a debriefing !
