What the Friends of St Peter and St Paul is about and how can I join…..?
The Parish Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Lingfield provides something for both regular worshippers and also for those who come to sit and quietly muse on the hundreds of years of history preserved in this building.
From the beginnings of this church in the twelfth and fourteenth centuries and its establishment, much as we see it today, by Sir Reginald Cobham in the fifteenth century, it stands as a permanent witness to the Christian faith in a world that has seen so many changes.
Whatever your colour, race or creed you are most welcome to visit this church; come, take in its history, sit awhile, pray and soak up the peace that pervades its walls.
The Friends of St. Peter and St. Paul was founded in 1997 with the aim of encouraging an interest in and support for the enhancement and development of the church, its monuments and its churchyards by raising funds through subscriptions a variety of social events. The Friends achieve this by making grants and funding projects approved by the Parochial Church Council.
To date the Friends have raised almost £60,000 for the benefit of the Church
